Industry 4.0 is a driving force in manufacturing today, and there are a few factors that are driving Industry 4.0. Data, connectivity, and the customers are the most important things moving Industry 4.0 along faster. Big data is making companies smarter and more efficient. As we continue to learn how to harness all this information, the benefits will increase even more. Connectivity is influencing Industry 4.0 because of, “A virtual global factory — a network of businesses from multiple regions that can resolve issues of connectivity between companies and also for the relationship between the customer and the supplier.” The customer may be the biggest driving factor because expectations are changing quickly and businesses need to keep up to keep customers happy.

Science-fiction writer Ray Bradbury once said, "Living at risk is jumping off a cliff and building your wings on the way down."
