2019 is here! What trends are going to take center stage this year? 5G is definitely a hot topic and could greatly impact smart manufacturing. Automation will also likely increase across the board with more businesses investing in this technology. Businesses will also be adapting to an evolving work force. Though automation is increasing, there is still a skills gap that needs to be addressed. Also, Manufacturing Global said, "More will need to be done to ensure that traditional workforces are equipped and ready to excel in this new digital environment. Directors must develop the skills of their staff to envision, educate, explain and execute the digital transformation of their businesses."
