Although what’s currently happening can’t be referred to as a full-fledged “Industrial Revolution” like the past three, it's still taking the industry by storm. Before we see where the industry is, let's quickly recap how far it's come. The first revolution kicked off in the 1700’s with the emergence of the commercial steam engine and the mechanical loom. The second came at the start of the 20th century when electricity and mass production became widespread.
