Manufacturers are optimistic about the industry’s future in North Dakota and Minnesota

Manufacturing jobs in Minnesota were projected to decrease after 2014, but they are actually rising. North Dakota is seeing a similar trend, with jobs in the field expected to increase by 2024. “A DEED study released in January stated 90 percent of the respondents expect production levels will increase or stay the same this year. That's compared with 86 percent for 2016.” Manufacturing is the second biggest industry in the state of Minnesota, but it is not yet a top industry in North Dakota. There are certainly opportunities in both states for growth, and industry leaders are confident they are moving in the right direction.
