What the cloud could do for U.S. innovation

Graham Immerman

The cloud is everywhere, but it could still be doing a lot more for U.S. manufacturing than it currently is. "While manufacturers as individual consumers have made the shift to a cloud-dominated reality in their day-to-day lives, few have made the shift in their day-to-day work." Sticking with what you have always done might work well for a while, but when the world is changing you have to adjust. Just think, if teachers were still teaching the same way they were 20 years ago because it worked well then, students would not be prepared for our world today! The cloud supports collaboration, product data, operational data, and a space for disruptive technologies to grow! "The cloud is manufacturing’s surest path to innovation, and it’s faster and more powerful than anything that’s ever existed before. It’s high-time we changed things up and made use of it."

While manufacturers as individual consumers have made the shift to a cloud-dominated reality in their day-to-day lives, few have made the shift in their day-to-day work. Read More
