With change comes a lot of questions and uncertainty.
That is expected.
However, that uncertainty can lead to negativity and anxiety very quickly and that is something you want to avoid as a leader.
Here are some things you can do to make the change to Industry 4.0 a positive experience for everyone.
1. Focus on the human element
One of the most common causes for anxiety during this transition is that employees often feel like they are no longer needed. If they feel irrelevant and replaceable, that is absolutely cause for negative feelings.
It's your job to make sure your staff knows that they are valuable during and after the transition! Plant said, "This means we need to work with existing employees to implement new technologies in a way that is still beneficial to both parties. In fact, the transition will be much longer and harder, without some of those key employees, or fail."
That leads us right into our next point.
2. Focus on communication.
The best thing you can do to mitigate employee anxiety is communicate and be as transparent as possible.
This will not only answer a lot of their questions, it will also build a foundation of trust that will lead you through the transition to Industry 4.0
If you continue to communicate well and retain a sense of trust and value in your employees the transition as a whole will go much more smoothly. Positivity is so important!
