How The Industrial Sector Will Drive Massive Growth To The Internet Of Things: "Analysts at Juniper Research in the United Kingdom predict that the number of connected devices will triple within the next five years, rising from 13.4 billion today to 38.5 billion by 2020. The majority of these devices will be in the industrial and public services sector, the authors of the report said in a press release, with smart buildings, agriculture and the overhaul of the national power system into the long-awaited smart grid playing a significant role."

IoT Weekender: Intel has invested heavily in building up its IoT group, which it created in late 2013. The company lost out on the chip market for mobile, and is determined to get in on the next big device market – the IoT.
