    What is takt time and could your shop use it?

    Have you ever heard of takt time? 

    The Fabricator said takt time is, " often described as the manufacturing rhythm and a key element in the adoption of a flow process. Takt time should match customer demand as products move from one manufacturing step to the next."

    You could use it to measure your production and to see if your factory is flowing well. Where are the holdups? Where could you improve? 

    Remember, you don't have to use takt time exactly like Toyota did - you are different and unique! Learn from companies like Toyota but try and apply these strategies and metrics to how your individual business works.
