A look back in manufacturing and technology

    It’s 2020 - a new decade!

While we are often looking forward to the future in this industry, it’s also important to look back at where we came from.

Here are a few incredible successes from the last ten years!

    Artificial Intelligence

AI has skyrocketed over the last ten years with amazing results!

In manufacturing specifically, this has helped expand the use of sensors, data analytics, and even cobots.

IndustryWeek reported, “Just over 11,000 cobots were sold globally in 2015. This year sales will top 150,000, a number that could quadruple by 2025.”

AI has become an instrumental part of manufacturing operations and efficiency.

    Smartphones

It’s almost hard to remember what life was like before smartphones.

It’s equally hard to believe how much this technology has advanced! We have come a long way since landlines and rotary phones, but even in the last decade, smartphones have gotten smarter.

Now they are being used in smart factories, supply chain, and so much more!

    Industry 4.0/IoT

Of course, we couldn’t leave out Industry 4.0 and the Internet of Things!

This area has seen a huge boom. IndustryWeek said, “Today, there are about 20 billion physical devices globally connected to the internet, collecting and sharing data, enabling devices to communicate real-time data without human involvement.”

This isn’t just happening in manufacturing, even homes and appliances are using this technology.

What will the next decade bring? What new technologies will you utilize?
