    Red states and the rust belt are seeing an upswing in manufacturing jobs. Louisville-Jefferson County is in the lead with a 30.2% increase totaling 83,300 jobs, followed by Grand Rapids-Wyoming, Michigan and Kansas City. While midwestern areas are increasing, areas near big cities such as Chicago and LA are declining. “Lower-cost regions should experience some continued growth as the current presidential administration seeks to encourage more on-shoring of basic production.”
